MONTHLY SKIN CARE TIP
Q: If 80% of sun damage occurs before age 18, isn't protection later in life a lost cause?
A: Untrue: the FDA found that only 23% of damage happens before your 18th birthday; however, additional harm occurs at a rate of 10% for every decade from then on - so, it's never too late to start using sunscreen.
Q: How does one correct uneven skin tone?
A: Forget spot treatment. You need to address the marks you see now and the ones that will appear later. We suggest using the "White" line that can be found at www.ihdistribution.com. Also, regular use of a sunscreen is the only way to stop freckles from developing
Q: What else can be done to improve your skin?
A: Diet can also affect your complexion. Recent studies have found that dairy may cause acne. As hormones are the suspected culprits, switching to hormone-free organic food and dairy could be a solution.
Q: If food really has an impact on our face, should we all stock up on salmon fillets?
A: Salmon is overrated. The risk of mercury poisoning by the fish far outweighs its anti-inflammatory benefits. Farmed salmon contains PCBs and dioxins, which are linked to breast cancer. Even wild varieties aren't completely safe. Hair loss, concentration problems, and upset stomachs are all signs of too much mercury. You should follow the rule of no more than two servings of salmon per week.
Q: Skin care and food all take time to have an effect. Are there any instant fixes?
A: Whitening your teeth attracts more light to the face, which makes skin glow. Stay positive - if chocolate cake makes you happy, you should enjoy a small piece. Also, using mineral-based foundations (such as those found at www.ihd.myarbonne.com) look extremely natural and doesn't cake into creases.
